I've seen this before on this board- employees assume HR is on their side and looking out for them, or at the very least, is there to provide some kind of buffer or mediation between the employee and the management.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
HR is there to provide support for management and owners. They are who really matter, not the worker.
Your HR manager did nothing wrong by sharing the details of that conversation with your immediate supervisor; he was just doing his job.
