"Husband bought a house before we were married two years ago and just recently told me that he won't put my name of the deed"
He's under no obligation to.
"We've been paying the mortgage together but I've been putting thousands of MY OWN DOLLARS into the house in updates/additions."
And you are under no obligation to do this either.
"Someone help me understand this, and/or if there is anything that I can do."
You can stop contributing to the mortgage and updates and consider any monies already invested as the cost of your housing expense (over the past two years and going into the future).
"I feel tricked and used."
I can't blame you there.
You will, as others pointed out, gain a marital interest in the property based on the monies going towards the mortgage and renovations being from a "marital pool" of income. Likewise, as the equity grows, so does your interest, however, you likely won't get a dollar for dollar reimbursement in the event you divorce.
