After 24.3 years of employment, I had to take an early retirement because my boss was impossible to work for any longer. My Dr. told me to get out before I had a nervous breakdown. I went to talk to an Atty., gave him all the info he requested to start a file and begin a law suite. This case was to be on consignment. I never signed any papers and he never asked for any money up front. He said I had a very good case. He led me to believe he was going to file the law suite. telling me a couple different ways he could do it. He asked me to get a quote from the company on how much I would have made if I stayed until retirement age so he could put a money value on it. The statue of limitations ran out on August 2, 2006. I was in his office on August 1, 2006 and he said he would file the necessary papers the next day so we would be within the time limit. The next day he called me at 3:00 PM and said he lost my file. POOR EXCUSE. I know for a fact that he was paid off. Maybe not monatarily but in some other way. By the way, my job was political. Do you think I have a case? I have to be very careful in choosing an Atty. because it seems they all stick together in this area. Could I go to the Atty. General or maybe the Bar Association? Please help me..........
