Can I counter sue for travel expenses?

I will be attending court in a different state for small claims.  I was working with a company to create a custom website and cancelled my account because they wanted to charge me more moeny after seeing my requirements.  They filed a small claims against me for breach of contract for services rendered (even though they did not create the site).  I did not sign their account termination agreement which would give their state jurisdiction over future cases.  They have filed the claim in their state because the state allows it if the contract was signed in the state.  The contract occurred over the phone.  Can I counter sue for travel expenses?

    Sure.

You can counter sue for anything you want.

You just won't get awarded travel expenses or lost time from work. It just doesn't happen.
