    Bounced payroll checks?

I work for a landscape design firm in Davie, Florida.  Two of my deposited pay checks bounced when they were put into my bank.  I was re enburesed for the checks but was told to go cash them at a check cashing store in the future. I cashed one more from the same Check Cashing Store and apparently it did not clear becasue the next time i went in there with two checks to cash they told me i had a balance because the last check did not clear.

What actions should i take? Will this hurt my credit?

    Thank you

Yes, it can hurt your credit.  You can sue in small claims court.

Cash them on the bank on which they are drawn--get cash--if they won't give you cash--file a wage complaint with Dept of Labor.

It would have to be the federal DOL, since Florida doesn't have one.  Plus, my understanding is that the federal DOL will pursue straight-time pay only to the extent of the federal minimum wage, which is lower than Florida's MW.  Also, in a small claims suit, you can sue for damages up to at least twice the unpaid wages, which the federal DOL will not do.

All of that to say that small claims is your better option.  Most likely faster, also.
