    Cross-Cultural Training for H1BVisa employees

    Greetings,

I am currently conducting a needs analysis as part of the process of starting a new consulting company. I have a background in International Management, and am thinking of starting a company that provides training to managers from other countries who are managing US employees.

I would be most grateful if you would help by answering a few questions :

In your experience, are companies that employ foreign workers and managers providing cross-cultural training for their H1B Visa employees?

If companies do provide cross-cultural training, is it effective? Is there room for improvement?

If companies do not provide cross-cultural training, why not?

Would you recommend your clients that employ foreign workers offer a training workshop in US management practices and employment law? Why or why not?

Many, many thanks for your kind participation.

Perhaps in your experience you have encountered problems with foreign managers not understanding the concept of "hostile work environment" for example. Would a training course for these managers help protect the firm from a lawsuit?

ALL managers need to be trained on that, not just those from a foreign country.

FYI:  Your "needs analysis" is being submitted to anyone who has computer access and has pulled up this Web site.  Therefore, the responses received might be from "unidentifiables" who just want to play games with you.

I hope that you are not limiting your research to establish this consulting company to message boards ...
