What are my chances of gaining custody in NJ?

Hello, I was wondering if someone could shed some light on my question regarding a divorce and subsequent child custody proceedings.  My wife is unfaithful and has a past history of drug abuse. I believe that she has had a suicidal episode in the past as well... I have never used drugs and I do an equal share in raising our children.

There are many factors that go into a custody determination;  being unfaithful isn't one of them; past drug use and a possible suicide attempt in past also probably wouldn't be relevant.  The court will look at the custody arrangement coming into court,  the custody arrangement at the time you separated and the factors that would be relevant to each parents parenting abilities and care of the children at those times.
