Question [=?] Do Illinois farmers have to carry workmans comp?

My husband was seriously hurt on a farm he works at and found out by employers insurance comp that there is no workmans comp. Who pays for medical bills now? Is his boss reliable? Also what about lost wages and pain and suffering?
    Thanks

yes, if they have employees. There are exceptions. Talk to your local insurance broker for details.

The vast majority of employers must by statute carry wc insurance. If they don't have insurance at the time of injury, the State has penalties that can be imposed upon them.
