    time card

Do I have the right to get a copy of my time card?  My employer will no longer make a copy for his employees.  I do keep up with my time and he has shorted me hours a few times.

Make your own copy before you turn it in.

There is no law that is going to force the employer to provide a copy to you.

Per Texas Labor Code 62.003 the employer is required to give you a stub identifying your earnings and deductions.  Per 62.003(6)(A) the stub must indicate the hours worked.

Your option is apparently to keep personal record during that time period, and if you dispute it to inform the employer or make it a wage claim.

If you agree with the stub, throw out your record, and move on to the next.

Gas stations charge us extra for using ATMs.  Grocery stores charge us if we buy heated sandwiches.  It's becoming a stupider world out there.  I just don't know why an employer would have to provide a "copy" of a time card.  The option is to accept it or dispute it.  (Per FLSA they have to keep the time cards a minimum of two years anyway ... )
