    Angry [:@] Chapter 13

My husband and I retained a debt settlement company almost a year and a half ago to help us get out of debt. After a year and a half, we have paid them their full fee, but we have 6 of our accounts with judgements against us and two of them have just sent our employers garnishment papers. With the amount that we pay to the settlement company and the amount that they want to garnish from us, it would take up half of our monthly income. We will lose our house and everything else. First of all, can both of us be garnished at the same time? Second, do you think that Chapter 13 would be right for us? We tried to do the right thing and thought that debt settlement was it. Except now, our creditors have not stopped harrassing us, as they promised, and our debt has doubled since we started because of interest fees, late payment fees and legal fees. We are SO frustrated and don't know where to turn! Please help!

It is my opinion that the entire premise of debt settlement is utterly faulty in practice: most of the reasona why you have experienced.

Get to a Chapter 13 lawyer ASAP and understand your options before you pay the debt settlement outfit a penny more.
