Sad [:(] Sibling to sibling guardianship?

Do courts allow an older sibling to become the legal guardian of a younger sibling, when the parents who currently have custody are not providing, enough basic necessities, adult supervision, a safe or even sanitary home for the child?

The parents in question currently prevent the child from contacting her father and sibling whenever they feel like being cruel. They are not financially equipped to raise the four children they have, two of which have serious mental problems that interfere with one child having a safe home and getting basic attention.

It's possible. But you say the "parents" don't allow the child to contact the "father" - which makes no sense. If you mean the mother interferes with contact with a non-custodial father then the father should be seeking custody.

Its what it sounds like, her mother and stepfather don't let her contact our biological father or me for that matter. The father can't seek custody he owes $10,000 in back child support,he is unemployed (for the same reason),drug addicted, and disabled (psychotic bipolar disorder). Which is why I am seeking custody, either full or joint.

All you can do is contact social services and keep involved and offer yourself up as guardian in the event they want to put the child in foster care, perhaps to the point of hiring your own family law attorney.

A psychotic drug addict? It sounds like the mother has a pretty good reason to limit contact.
