    PIP Insurance- Texas

My family and I was injured in car accident a month ago. The other driver was given a ticket and their insurance company has accepted liability. However, they have already begin harassing us with settlement offers and we are still under a doctors care. I have PIP insurance on my automobile. Can I use my pip to pay some the medical bills along with loss of wages.? When I settle with the 3rd party insurance, do they reimburse me for the medical bills I have covered? I'm really not sure how this works.

"Can I use my pip to pay some the medical bills along with loss of wages.?"

    Yes.

Read your policy for the provisions of Part B - Personal Injury Coverage to see how it works.

"When I settle with the 3rd party insurance, do they reimburse me for the medical bills I have covered?"

You should include the amount of the bills and wages in your claim (along with whatever pain and suffering amount you are claiming) but it's your own insurance company under the PIP coverage that is entitled to reimbursement for whatever it covers.

    See your policy Conditions.
