Well, if it is not one thing it is another! Today I was rear-ended by a big work truck driven by an employee of a heating and cooling company here in Nashville. I had signaled and slowed down to make a right hand turn and he hit me.This guy hit me so hard, it spun my car around to face the opposite direction, into a ditch where it went up on two wheels and almost flipped over, but thankfully it came to rest on all four tires. I have no idea how fast he was going, but my car has extensive damage to the rear. Exhaust, axle, tire, frame and who knows what else damage. I am not so much worried about my car as I am me.
At the time, I didn't believe I was hurt. I declined to go to the ER in the Ambulance. I went with the tow-truck driver and my car. I have been set up with a rental and a collision center has my car. A few hours later, my neck and back has tightened up and it hurts! I went to the ER on my own and X-rays were taken. They gave me meds and instructions. I have been told I will be hurting worse in the next day or so.
My question is, are they going to offer a settlement with me, or are they going to just pay all these bills and I won't see a dime? I have never had this happen and although I am not the suing kind, it would be nice to get something in addition to my car being repaired and medical bills paid. I just don't know how this process works.
Any advice and/or opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
