I was laid off and never paid

Hi, I was working at a local pizza restraunt for about 4 months when on April 19th they decided to tell me they were closing that day. about a week or two prior they had given me a bad check that bounced. They said they were going to claim bankruptcy and that they did not have the means to pay their employees. Through my knowledge about 10 of us never got paid. So in short I was laid off and my last check bounced and they owe me another payhcheck or two. What legal actions can I take? I've been in contact with them and they said they have no idea if or when they can pay it.

Contact your state dept of labor about filing a wage claim.

    1. File a wage claim with appropriate state agency for the unpaid wages

    2. File for UC as of date you last worked and got paid for same.

    3. Follow whatever your state rules are as to seeking restitution for passing a bad check.

    4. Do NOT listen to any of employers excuses!
