Repo Man beating on my door for previous tennant

Me and my girlfriend moved into a new townhouse at the start of June, and have been having issues with the previous tenant, even though we never met him. It took over 2 weeks for us to get cable, as he had a large outstanding balance. We had to take our lease to the cable company TWICE to prove that we were not associated with him.

Last night at 11:30pm a repo man started beatiing on our door, cursed at my girlfriend, so she came and woke me up. The repo guy said he knew we were renting for this guy (we are not, no one owns our town home, it is run by [a management company]). He cursed at me, said he would be coming back until he got the car, yelled at us to pay our bills. We called the police, but the guy left.  My question is, do we have any recourse? I even showed the guy my ID to prove I was not who he was looking for.  Isn't there some sort of law that he can not just beat on the door all hours of the night?

The funniest part is, the former tenat was a player for [a professional sports team].

    Someone ownes it.

If he comes back see if you can find what company he works for and you can try to take his picture in case the police want to know what he looks like.

Do you know if he contacted the local police to inform them that he was repoing the vehicle?

Probably the best you can do is if you hear him banging on your door or hanging around your place of residence is to call the police.
