I have a medical disability for which I receive FMLA protection to receive treatment. On a few occasions, I have had to take leaves of absence in order to get well. I have 1 supervisor that seems to have made it his personal mission to make me feel my disability is a disruption to the entire office. First, I asked for an additional few hours off one morning for an appt not related to my FMLA case and combined with the time I had off that morning that was FMLA protected I needed the first half the day off. His resonse was "why do you have to do this on Mondays, can't you do this some other day of the week" loud enough for the people in the cubes around us to hear. (my appts were every monday but I've moved them to wednesdays to get this man off my back)I went to the branch manager and asked if I needed to change my treatment schedule to accomodate the office, he said no, he'd s/w the supervisor. Just a couple of weeks later, the same supervisor starts at me again about Monday's being a bad day for my Dr Appts. I again asked the branch manager about changing my schedule to accomodate the office, he again said no, and that he would talk to the supervisor. Then, when the branch manager was on leave and this supervisor was acting manager, he announced to the entire office in a meeting that I'm late every Monday because I go to the Dr!!!
Now I am on a leave of absence, protected by FMLA, trying again to get well. A coworker of mine posts on facebook that "it is bull that a person can just not show up for work and still have a job" the discussion continues on facebook between 2 fellow employees to bring up past leaves I've had to take. I called my manager and he says there is nothing he can do, he can not control facebook. I know this conversation happened on work computers and on work time.
I'm honestly intimidated by the entire incident and afraid of how I will be treated when I return to work. I've concidered filing a complaint for discrimination but don't know if this all constitutes "harassment" or not. I'm at a loss for what to do and I don't know that I can go back to work and the stress is worsening my medical condition.
