    Responsible for pre-martial debt

I reside in Florida, I am in the process of divorce, I was told by one atty that I would be responsible for his student loans which he has over 100k before we got married, can this be true?.

Also if we kept separate bank accounts and credit cards etc, can one spouse be responsible for the others debt. And I'm not the mortgage but am on the deed of the house; I would like to keep the house and have him leave. I would like to do all this pro se and we have no children. Is this at all possible?

Was this a family law attorney you consulted with?  Generally previous debts belong to the debtor unless you co-signed or transferred it to a card in your name also.
