Lawyers.com is a community of people helping people, lawyers and lay people alike. We rely on lawyers like you, and other participants in our community, to help each other.

You'll enjoy participating at lawyers.com. It beats the heck out of reading and responding to nasty letters from other lawyers. And lawyers.com can provide a way for you to market yourself on the Internet by showcasing your abilities and qualifications to the general public.

You may be Internet savvy enough to have your own Web site. You may even have a site whose focus is providing valuable information to the public. But people have to know who you are and how to find your Web site. Plus you want to be able to interact with the public on the Internet in an ethical fashion. We can help.

Take a second to learn how to participate in the lawyers.com community.

Start slowly by answering a few posts on our Message Boards. Our Message Boards are the most active consumer law Message Boards on the Internet. Click "Message Board List" on the top left side of each page and then select topic you want. Review some of the questions and comments. If you're in the mood to help, respond to one of the posts. Remember: If you want to post on the Message Boards, you'll need to register first and pick out a unique user name, display name and password. If you don't mind, please introduce yourself by filling in an online profile describing your practice, skills and experience. Include your contact information and Web site, if you have one.

Unsure whether to give it a try? Browse through the Boards. You may be surprised to see how easy it is to help those in need. We guarantee you'll enjoy the experience - especially when you get positive feedback from someone who was desperately looking for answers without knowing where else to turn. By getting involved, there's every reason to expect new clients will find you. Before you know it, you may even want to host your own state-specific Message Board on a particular legal topic. You may also want to participate in scheduled live Chats.

We're aware that participating in Chats and answering posts on Message Boards raises ethical issues for lawyers. The bottom line is that a careful lawyer who's mindful of the applicable ethical rules can do a great service and provide meaningful help and guidance to those in need.
