Re: Health Insurance Claims - Delayed Filing
When you have any form of medical treatment, you almost always sign something agreeing to be responsible for the costs. If you're unsure, check with the doctor's office, but it's a rare doctor that doesn't have patients sign a form to this effect.

Re: Class action using Detrimental Reliance
You are certainly free to consult a local attorney, but I think that it is unlikely that you would prevail on a case of detrimental reliance under a class action. Among other things, courts look at detrimental reliance on a case-by-case basis, and everyone's circumstances are different. The school did not force anyone to quit their jobs to attend

Re: Contract still valid? Should I still have to pay?
Ultimately, no one can comment on the enforceability of a contract that we haven't read. The best that we can tell you is to have it reviewed by a local attorney.

Re: Who has to pay for physical?
Even though the clinic does not accept insurance, that does not preclude you from submitting the bill to your insurance provider yourself. It may not be reimbursed at the same rate as seeing your PCP, but you may get something back.

Re: selling off joint inheritance
Is it illegal for her to ask for the $25,000? Of course not. Is it ethical? The law really only cares about what's legal and what it isn't. One could argue that, with the improvements, the overall value of the property -- including your father's share -- has been increased. Is it ethical for him to reap the benefit of an increase in value

Re: Does a will executed prior to 2nd marriage need updating...
Even if both spouses have wills leaving everything to their respective children, most states have laws that allow a surviving spouse to elect against the will if the surviving spouse is not included in it. It would probably be a could idea for both your father and his wife to meet with an estate planning attorney to ensure that their wishes are carried

Re: Being a TRUE adult for 2 women who never see Eye to Eye
First of all, as the executor, I would suggest that you need to have whatever Grams signed reviewed by an attorney to determine whether it is valid codicil to her will. Has it been accepted by the court that is overseeing probate along with the will that you have submitted? Second, you need to determine whether the house is in the trust. If it's

Re: Indiana office Illinois based company
wasnt there just a class action lawsuit against wal mart for violating this exact policy????
If you're referring to the suit that was settled in July, that was in regard to workers in the state of Washington, not Indiana or Illinois.

Re: FT employee / PT hrs. ?
There's no law that defines full time vs. part time. What the law says is that, if you are non-exempt employee (often paid hourly), that you have to be paid for all time worked and that, if you work over 40 hours in a week, then you have to be paid overtime. If your hours have consistently been cut dramatically, you may be eligible for partial unemployment
