My Bio

Mr. Wilson graduated from Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario, received his B.A. degree from the University of New Hampshire and his J.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. Mr. Wilson is a frequent speaker on various immigration issues at AILA and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) conferences, and he serves as an Immigration Board Guide on Martindale-Hubbell's lawyers.com web site. Mr. Wilson is listed in the Best Lawyers in America for Immigration Law, The International Who's Who for Corporate Immigration Law and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers. Recent Publication

Andrew Wilson recently published an article for Inside the Minds: Employing International Workers, 2011 ed. The book was published by Aspatore Books, A Thomson Reuters Business. Mr. Wilson's article, entitled "Recent Changes in Employment-Based U.S. Immigration Law—Current Challenges Facing U.S. Employers Who Sponsor Foreign National Employee", focused on areas of immigration law that have become more challenging in recent years.

Speaking Engagement at AILA Conference

Andrew Wilson spoke at the 7th Annual AILA Conference/New England. The conference was entitled "Immigration Law: Getting the Inside Track". Mr. Wilson spoke on NAFTA and port of entry/border issues.
Corp. Social Responsibility & Sustainability Panel

Andrew Wilson was selected to serve a three-year term as a Panel Member for the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM's) Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Special Expertise Panel. SHRM Special Expertise Panels provide input to the SHRM Board, volunteers, members, and staff by identifying emerging trends in specific topic areas, providing expert advice on matters of professional significance, and providing guidance on matters of public policy. Panel members are appointed to a three-year term, and are selected based upon their specialized knowledge and demonstrated contribution to their field.

The 2010 panel nominees were selected using the SHRM Volunteer Opportunities Center, a comprehensive recruitment and selection process that assisted in the identification of panel members and allowed SHRM to broadly announce panel positions; and through referrals of both of both staff and current volunteers. Those nominated were considered by a Panel Selection Committee composed of volunteer leaders and staff, who, in turn, submitted slates for each panel to the Governance Committee of the SHRM Board for review and approval.
